The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announce today that the 2023 ICANN DNS Symposium (IDS) will be held online and in person on 5 September, in Da Nang, Vietnam.
This year, ICANN will invite speakers to present on the integration and security of the Domain Name System (DNS) with emerging technologies, exploring the challenges and opportunities that this integration presents. The symposium invites researchers, developers, and operators to present on subjects including, but not limited to, blockchains, Internet of Things, and novel uses of the DNS, such as IP-to-location translation and blocklists.
IDS will be held immediately after "A Day of DNS Abuse Discussions" and before another important event, the two-day OARC 41 workshop organized by the DNS Operations Analysis and Research Center (DNS-OARC). ICANN looks forward to participating in these events.
Below is the week's schedule of events:
4th September – A Day of DNS Abuse Discussions
5th September – ICANN DNS Symposium
6th September – OARC 41
7th September – OARC 41
As in previous years, the symposium offers a forum for individuals to discuss technical topics related to the DNS. The IDS is intended for attendees with a clear understanding of the DNS and its operations, such as generic top-level domain (gTLDs) brand and geo registries, ICANN-accredited registrars, gTLD resellers, gTLD hosting providers, and registry service providers.
